Sontay is proud to announce that Stacey Lucas, Commercial & Marketing Director at Sontay, is now Vice President of the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA), the representative body of the building controls and BEMS sector in the UK. Succeeding Paul Wetherfield as Vice President, Stacey Lucas – who has been part of BCIA’s management committee since January 2022 – will play a crucial role at the BCIA, supporting President Graeme Rees in the development of the association’s future.

Stacey has been working in the building controls and BEMS sector for over 20 years, starting her career at Sontay in 2001 as a Customer Service Advisor. Since then, Stacey has worked her way up the ranks to Commercial & Marketing Director, building long lasting relationships with many of Sontay’s customers and truly leaving her mark on the industry.

The knowledge and insight learned in these years has given Stacey a brilliant knowledge base and high level of technical understanding of the building controls industry which is of great benefit to Sontay and the evolvement of the BCIA and its members.

Speaking of Stacey’s appointment, Graeme Rees, BCIA President, commented: “Stacey has been a fantastic addition to the BCIA Management Committee and I am delighted to now welcome her to the position of Vice-President. Her career is a great example of the many routes people take into the building controls industry and her experience will be a great asset to the BCIA’s cause.”

Stacey said: “When I first started out in this industry I did not know a great deal about it but I have certainly caught the building controls ‘bug’ and I am more excited than ever about the new technologies embraced by the industry and the future that lies ahead. It is an honour and a privilege to become Vice-President of the BCIA and I look forward to supporting Graeme during his time as President. It is vital that the BCIA continues to play a key role in positioning the BEMS sector as an enabler of Net Zero, driving up industry standards and supporting new talent into the industry.”

Mark Newton, Managing Director of Sontay said: “Everyone at Sontay is delighted to see Stacey as the new Vice President of the BCIA. Not only is she such a treasured colleague admired by so many of our staff members and customers across the world, but Stacey is also a passionate advocate for our sector. The BCIA are very lucky to have her as Vice President.”

Stacey’s appointment further strengthens ties between Sontay and the BCIA, a relationship which in 2016 saw the BCIA become the official training partner of Sontay’s resident training offering, The Sontay Academy.

As a leading manufacturer in the BEMS sector, Sontay is proud to see the appointment of Stacey as Vice President and looks forward to what’s in store.
